Hello! I’m Cathey, and we’re Mama Chola Knits. We’re a mother-daughter duo from Peru with a passion for knitting & crocheting. I learned to knit from my mom, who learned to knit from her older sisters and mother, and they all learned to knit from our great-grandmother. It means so much to me that we’re able to keep this beautiful tradition going through generations and across continents.

Our name is a nod our indigenous ancestry, something that drives who I am and everything I do. Fiber arts is an integral part of our Quechua culture, and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t surrounded by wool, cotton, and other lush fabrics. I love being able to create soft, beautiful and functional items that endure, just like what our ancestors did.
