Rumikusi

When I was a kid, I never left home without my box of 124 Crayola crayons. Eventually, I experimented with other types of art and mediums, but my love of color has never changed, and that is how I discovered dot art. This playful technique allows me to create unique designs, dot by dot, in an almost meditative state.

I honestly believe the reason I am obsessed with colors is because of my Peruvian heritage and growing up around the bright, vibrant hues of the Andes. There is nothing quite like walking through the rainbow-colored, kaleidoscopic, open-air markets of traditional Peru. Colors inspire me to combine and create, to chase the energy that unfolds as the pieces are completed. Colors and patterns were important to my ancestors and, not surprisingly, they’re important to me as well. I’m passionate about anything colorful and creative, and my art is always heavily influenced by music, my biggest passion of all.
