Hand Job Resumes in November After Pandemic Hiatus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – San Antonio, TX, 03 May 2021

After having cancelled the last two events that would have taken place during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hand Job™ will be resuming it’s in-person fine arts and crafts market for Small Business Saturday, November 27th, 2021 from noon to 5PM at the Leon Valley Community Center.

“It was a heart breaking, but necessary decision to not run the event during the pandemic for public health concerns. The event was gaining traction and I was looking to have it more than once a year,” said the event organizer, Ellice Sanchez, “The venue had cancelled all events through November in 2020. I could have fought an uphill battle to keep the event running, but it would not have been worth it with the health concerns from the vendors, guests and myself.”

The event organizer has been monitoring the conditions of public health during the coarse of the pandemic and feels that it would be safe to resume the event due to a number of factors, such as the increasing vaccination rate and relatively low infection rates.

“I am hoping that the artists, artisans, and guests will agree that they will feel safe to resume in-person events, with the way that the data is looking and the way that the U.S. President is setting a July 4th goal to have the virus under control across our country,” said Sanchez, “I suspect the vendors are also hoping that anyone who might have squirrelled away their stimulus check, might feel buying local will help their neighbors recover financially and get their hands on something unique.”

The event is organized to showcase only hand made arts and crafts from local artists and artisans. Typically, the vendors feel the high-end or fragile nature of their wares is best suited for the security of an indoor venue. In the previous year, items sold like: sterling silver/gemstone jewelry, bath bombs, silk screen bags, woodwork, tapestries, ceramics, painted artwork, bird houses, doll houses and soap.  All items are verified to be made by hand and the actual artist/artisans that made the products will be present. The event offers free on-site parking and the market is accessible to people of all abilities.

The event organizer is currently seeking new vendors to join to sell their crafts.
